Literary Translation provides funding for publishing houses for translating European literature: fiction and poetry. It will help allow you to translate books from one of the eligible languages (source language) into another languages (target language).

This programme helps publishing houses to translate European authors into another language eligible under this strand of the Culture Programme 2007 - 2013. These are: the 23 official languages of the EU Member States the languages of Norway and Iceland the languages of Turkey, Croatia, Serbia and FYROM (Macedonia) Latin and ancient Greek It encourages the promotion of European authors to new and wide spread audiences in Europe. Key criteria are: max. 10 books can be translated the author of the work should have been published before translation projects can last up to 24 months Priority given to the translation of literature from countries that joined the EU since 2004.
