Ariel is the only assessment centre in the North West approved to assess NVQ Radio Production. Graduates from Ariel's training programme form a network of contacts employed in radio stations across the country. Ariel are also working with students and teachers in schools across the region, aiming to make Liverpool the leading city in the use of school radio.

Hope Street is an award-winning organisation dedicated to nurturing the creative development of emerging artists, artforms and communities. It provides professional development for artists and theatre companies through its incubation programmes, workshops and masterclasses, 'business matters' scheme, and through its associate artist programme and co-production of the xmas show at Unity Theatre. It creates a new generation of theatre makers and community artists through its apprenticeships programme and houses Healthy Arts, a healthy living project for vulnerable young people. Highlights in 2007 include a cross artform project focussing on slavery in the 21st century, led by Hilary Westlake and an outdoor spectacular along the Leeds/Liverpool canal celebrating both cities' 8007th birthday, led by Jon Fox, formerly artistic director of Welfare State International.
